Bergen Calendar travels to Mongol Rally

THE BERGEN CALENDAR TRAVELS TO MONGOL RALLY WITH JOAR OG BRAGE

The Mongol Rally is a car rally that begins in Europe and originally ended in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. To avoid punitive costs and taxes associated with vehicle imports and disposal, the rally now passes through Mongolia and ends in Ulan Ude, Russia. The principal launch is from London, United Kingdom, with subsidiary starting points in the Czech Republic. It is described as the "greatest adventure in the world". There are three fundamental Rules of the Rally:

  1. The car must be small and rubbish
  2. Teams are totally unsupported
  3. Teams need to raise at least £1000 for charity

Joar and Brage (27 years old) from Ullensvang and Sotra decided to take part to the Mongol Rally. They will travel from Oslo on the 19th of July 2015 and will be on the road for the next 6 weeks. Joar had always the dream to take part to this adventure and after long looking for a partner to share the trip found Brage. They bought an old Nissan Micra that will be their travel companion! Bergen will also travel with them thanks to the Bergen calendar that they got today! Yeah! They will donate the Bergen calendar to families that will give them hospitality.

Wish you all the best!!! Have fun and enjoy your adventure!!!!!
